You’re Allowed To Take Your Time
"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him..."
— Psalm 37:7 (NIV)
Reflection
Some days aren't meant for rushing.
We live in a world that celebrates speed—faster results, quicker answers, and constant motion. It's easy to believe that if we're standing still, we're somehow falling behind. But every now and then, our hearts need permission to simply breathe.
The psalmist reminds us to "be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him." Waiting isn't wasted time when God is part of the waiting. Sometimes He strengthens us while nothing around us seems to be changing. Sometimes the quiet moments become the very place where hope quietly grows again.
If you're carrying something heavy today, don't feel guilty because you're moving a little slower than everyone else. Healing has its own pace. Grief has its own pace. Learning to trust God has its own pace. The important thing isn't how quickly you arrive—it's that you keep your heart open to the One who walks beside you every step of the way.
So today, give yourself the same grace that God so generously gives you. Pause when you need to. Rest when you should. Smile when you can. Tomorrow will come soon enough, and His faithfulness will still be waiting there.
